For a little person my smiling masseur approached her task to start with gently, lulling me into a false sense of security, however as she sat on my back & begun wrapping my legs up, wedging them behind my ears I realised she ment business & continued to take her job seriously. It was strangely relaxing & enjoyable mixed with trepidation as to what pain she would inflict next, all good for you I'm sure
A swim in our pool followed to re tangle the untangled then off to catch the sunset on the Mekong & visit floating villages where kids waved, dogs barked & plants grew in tin cans hanging off the washing lines
Felt uncomfortable sailing in as if to raid their privacy for the sake of 15 hungry tourists looking for a 'I've seen that' pic
We realigned our tourist'ness by walking on by the bright lights & picture cards covered in burgers of the restaurants on the main roads until they transformed into dim shacks full of the workers & their families getting involved in unnameable meals of terrified sparrows & baby crabs until convincing a passer by that yes we really did want to eat there & could he help us order which he did & bowls of rice, egg & chicken arrived by the youngest waiter in the world, he was at least 5...spiced ginger & cucumber chilli chutney was an excellent accompaniment to ninas delight
Home for an early one tonite as off on a bike around Mekong island early tomorrow to meet some more locals
