Whoa what an intence last day in bangkok, I am pretty sure this is going to be too much information for most of you but I am going to say it anyway.
Woke up feeling great went to the dentist and acording to her I didn't need any fillings at all. This actually put me in a difficult possition because the Dentist in Guernsey said I needed 2. SO i insisted on getting some x-rays and to be honest I actually believed what she was telling me, so I just had the teeth cleaned and then had a complimentary foot massage.
The lady who was giving the massage didn't speak too much english, but she made up for that with the amount of pain she could inflict. She was quite sweet actually and insisted on telling me that "No go with Thai Lady - Many HIV" I assured her that I already knew this and that I had no intention to do this. She also told me that I should go to "Lobson" if I wanted some food after she had finished the massage.
The receptionist also told me that the post office was also in "Lobson" and it was at the end of the road. Assuming that they were refering to a shopping mall I left and walked to the end of the road. Couldn't find anything that was called "Lobson" - I walked a little way down the road and asked a police man for a post office and he pointed back the way I had come and said "lobson". Feeling a little bit frustrated and really hungry I decided to just go into the next building and ask there. This was called "Robinson", it then dawned on me that thais like the chinese get their L's and R's mixed up, and this was the place I needed anyway - duh!
Posted the package I needed to post but didnt fancy the food in there so I decided to go and find a new battery for my camera. So I went to the fortune centre, a huge mall that specialises in electrical goods. It did have everything in there but I was a little disapointed in the prices to be honest, I think I might be able to get things cheaper from amazon.
I went to the food caught and looked around, but to be honest there wasn't anything I fancied, but I had pains in my stomach and I knew I should eat. So I managed to order something that I liked, which was remarkable really considering the guy didn't speak a word of english.
I couldn't finish it and started to feel ill, I suspected that the stomach pains might be indicating something a little more sinister than just hunger. Sure enough when I eventually found a toilet, which seemed to take for ever. I found myself clinging tightly to different kind of seat for an altogether different kind of white knuckle ride.
I decided that I need to get back to the hostal and decided to take the subway, I was actually feeling better and thought that it would be ok. I bumped into this guy I had met earlier in the hotel and started chatting to him, still feeling fine I board the subway train and as soon as the doors closed I started to sweat, I was no longer feeling fine. After a lot of serious concentration we eventually arrived at the next station, where I dismounted and went in search of a toilet. When I got to the counter I must have been looking particularly green because after I said I needed a toilet, he asked if I was ill and said something to the cleaner, who then followed me round wherever I went. I have to admit they were really sweat to me, they took me to a part of the station that wasn't open to the public then let me back onto the train afterwards.
Anyway enough detail - I hear you all say. Basically I spent the rest of the day in bed trying to rehydrate, which waS not an easy task because I certainly didn't feel like drinking anything.
