Today we should have been up early for breakfast with everyone and back on the boat back to Hanoi.
However, with a little negotiation we managed to book a further 2 more night in paradise and return to Hanoi as planned later.
Up early again, this time to watch the sunrise from our private deck. An early morning swim and breakfast with our departing friends.
Left alone on the island until the next wave of visitors arrive, we had the beach to ourselves. We packed a small bag and headed out into the bay by kayak. After some hunting around we found a small deserted beach to relax on for the day. Not a person or building in site, just the sound of the waves crashing and the birds tweeting from the surrounding rock formations. Another paradise found!
Once bored of perfection and out of snacks, we made our way back to the resort for some lunch. A group of what seemed like local business men on a business meeting being wined and dined in the restaurant were taking advantage of their free rice wine! For us it was calamari, rice and bean shoots alongside a beer or two.
The afternoon consisted of sunbathing, attempting to play volleyball and a game of cards alongside another beer or two.
The deal with staying two extra night involved a room change as the deluxe pad that we had stayed in the previous night was the dearest room in the house. Tonight's digs was a beach hut; 6ft x 6ft wooden shed with nothing but a 2 inch mattress on the floor. I loved it, Siobh had to warm to it. Set up the mozzy net and a very quick cold dribble of a shower layer and it was dinner time.
A get to know of the newbies and few more tiger beers and the mozzy net was calling.
The next hour was painful. 'We're in Vietnam, on a beach, in a hut. Yes Siobhan there are insects'
