Here in am in the South island, beautiful place shame about the weather! Have been pretty busy past few days so I'll start where I left off in Wellington.
So the weather started to turn on sunday whilst I was in Wellington, I was really hoping that I'd leave the bad weather behind as I left the North Island on the ferry but unfortunately it followed me :(. I arrived in Picton, a small town on the Queen Charlotte Sound about midday and immediately got picked up for my wine tour of Marlborough Wine Region. so after the early morning, after visiting 5 wineries all with fabulous sauv blanc as well as othe blends, I was quite merry to say the least! So after arriving back in Picton I decided to go in search of food and drink which I found in a delightful little Irish pub where an English girl and a welsh girl were working. As the evening went on and they introduced to more and more people I got well and truly wasted Jagerbombs and all and somehow managed to stumble back to my hostel! lol
Next morning at 7.30am I was regretting it as I had a full day of sea kayaking booked on the sound... AND it was still raining. I made it though and had an awesome day, despite the weather the sights were still amazing and we saw heaps of wildlife, mainly birds but also sting rays who swam right underneath our kayaks which was awesome! By the end of the day I was exhausted, soaked to bone and bitten by sandflies but it all was worth it and had an early night to recover.
Now I am in Christchurch doing washing yet again, may venture out shortly to check out the city as it looks pretty nice. Head to Queenstown tomorrow which means by bingee is approaching...
