Hi everyone,
Arrived in Rarotonga in the pouring rain at 2.30am.but finally arriving at our hotel 4.30pm, because of rain and the welcome ceremony of presenting garlands to everyone. When we awoke in the morning our view out of the hotel window was 'paradise'. After breakfast we just vegged out on loungers and went for a swim. The water was so clear we could see the fish swimming around the clumps of rock, very beautiful.
Next day went into town to look around by bus. Only one road around the Island, approx 32km. One goes clockwise and the other anticlockwise, hourly.
Went on a Safari which took in the mountain range in the middle of the Island, also the waterfall, and needle point. Eveinng we went to Staircase Restaurant for meal and a show of local dancers.
Went into Polynesian Bar/Hotel for lunch where we were served by the Transvestite waitress, complete with six o'clock shadow. Met up with six Kiwi's touring and the girls laughingly asked if they could have their photos taken with him/her.
Had our last meal at our hotel on 23rd Feb. to do the long journey home, two flights, one stopping at L.A then onto dear old England.
This blog should bring you upto date with our travels.
Love the tired geriactric travellers. xx
