Starting early to ensure we made the most of the day, we took a mini bus to Angra dos Reis at 7.30am with Sheridan and Tracy to catch the 11.30am boat to the island. We realised that we were actually part of a tour boat which stopped at three different islands, ending with Ihla Grande for lunch. It was mostly local tourists and families rather than gringos. Although we were just expecting to lay on the beach all day this turned out to be a welcome surprise as we stopped at some beautiful places. The water was incredibly still and clear and an amazing turquoise colour. For the first time we made the most of Nathan's camera being waterproof and took some funny underwater pictures. The second stop was 'blue lagoon', where we jumped into the water with hundreds of small coloured fish. Our only regret was not having more time to relax and enjoy the different islands as we were given a limited amount of time for each one. Our final stop was a buffet lunch on Ihla Grande, before heading back to the main land through a beautiful sunset over the sea. Once again we noticed how charismatic the Brazilians are, singing and dancing on the journey back and full of energy.
