Sun! Heat! We get off the plane to glorious hot weather. Now we're on vacation. The airport here is a gong show. Took about two hours to get our luggage as there was no rhyme or reason as to what suitcase was where. Thankfully our resort was only about 10 minutes away from the airport so we arrived there in time for dinner. Obviously we had no interest in doing anything except laying by the pool the whole time. The first two days were extremely windy, but otherwise nice so we stuck it out. After that the wind didn't make another appearance so that was nice. We spent the nights playing cards on our patio where we always played loser goes to the bar, aka Natasha as I could not seem to catch a break and win one. I kept inquiring to the staff about going to Cairo to see the pyramids and they all responded with the same answer, don't go. They said it was too corrupt and we should wait a couple years. I wasn't giving up that easy though, what if I never got the chance to come back! On Sam's Birthday (Thursday) we went into Nama Bay (downtown Sharm) to the Hardrock Cafe for dinner. On our way back to the resort after dinner our cab driver was a real friendly guy who started telling us about his day trips to Cairo. Aha! He said he would take us their on Saturday no problem, 6:00am pickup would get us into Cairo at 10:30am. So stoked! The 'adventures' that followed in Cairo will have to be a story to be told when we're home as reading it would not do it justice.
Sunday was our final day, we spent it at the water park which had some wicked slides so that was a fun time. As it was our last night in Egypt we ate dinner at the a la carte restaurant which was really good. Our flight didn't leave until 5:30pm so we got to sleep in and take our time until we had to be at the airport. We arrived at the airport unknowing to the fact it was snowing in England again and our flight was delayed by an hour. 5 hours and 20 minutes later we'll be in England only to have to turn around and catch our flight to Ireland at 9:50 tomorrow.
