G'day guys!!
Hope your all well and hating the cold weather I have heard you have been sent!! he he!
Well as some of you may know I have now arrived in sunny Sydney after a lovely 12 hour overnight bus whuich actually was not as bad as you would think!! I arrived on Thursday morning at a lovely 8am! Wasnt able to get into my room until midday so guess where my first port of call was?
The harbour of course!! Wow...what a site that was, the harbour, the opera house and the harbour bridge- they really live up to thier name!! It really is a breath taking sight and worth the trip just for that!! So after having a leisurly breakfast by the harbour I went back to my hostel and pretty much crashed out for the afternoon- only rising to get an all you can eat pizza hut!!
But dont worry I was much more productive the next day!! The weather over here at the moment is about 25- 27 degrees (english summer!) and it is the beginning of spring for them so its going to get myuch hotter!! so I did exactly what I was craving since I arrived!! Beach and sunshine! So me and 3 other english girls im sharing with all went over to Manly beach on the ferry and spent the afternoon there having a lovely lunch and enjoying the beach!! Was a really nice day! I also bumped into our very own Tom Rogers from Puckeridge on the beach (we knew we were both in Manly but no idea we were 5 meters away from each other on the same beach!) so it was great to catch up woith him and talk about home!! Going to meet up with him again next week so looking foward to that!
Yesterday I met up with another couple of friends- Tanya and Jonny who I met on the farm so it was great to catch up with them! We went over to the rocks shopping and out for lunch so another great day!
Today I went to the Blue Mountains which is just outside Sydeny. Little did I know I would be climbing mountains for hours!! that was an experience I did not enjoy at the time but am now proud I did it without dying!! We visited the national park and obviously all the blue mountains as well as the three sisters. The reason they are called the Blue mountains is because of all the valleys thats have formed in the land between the mountains are full of eucoliptus trees and all the vapour from these has slowly risen up leaving a blue mist over the tops of the mountains- hence the name) I also took a ride on the WORLDS STEEPEST RAILWAY! For those of you who know me- I HATE HEIGHTS!!! However I did manage to go up this railway which went up a 100 metre mountain VERTICALLY with me inside!! woooooooooooooooooooooooo.......
BUT I did make it without killing myslef so thats an achievment in itself! I HOPE YOU ARE ALL PROUD OF ME?!?!?!?!??!?
Anyway, I am off to go and meet my cousin Annette tomorrow for the fisrt time (?) so am meeting her in Newcastle and staying there for a few days to meet the family so ill keep ya posted on how that goes!
I must admit otherwise I am finding Sydney very load, very proud and exactly how I expected it! It is definatly the city that NEVER sleeps and I tell you what I am totally exhausted!!!! But it worth it.....
Looking foward to coming back next week and really getting a good chance to look around!!
Keep in touch!!
Lots of love xxxxxx

Daddy Hey Wanderer, where did you get this fear of heights from? Give our love to Annette and Greg, Amy and Owen and of course Mike, Leonie and uncle Curley if you catch up with them. I know you will have your camera with you..... I am back at work now and enjoying it (cough, cough) and still sorting through the pics from my hols. I hope you are updating your diary... Love you always Daddy XXXX
sandie Wow Jenny I really really envy you, sounds fantastic, give our love to all.
Angela Sydney sounds amazing, I want to be there tooooooo!! Stuck indoors with Aaron poorly with cough & cold. Goes with the weather, boo hoo!! Give me sunshine all the time! Dean did a sponsored 45 mile bike ride in London yesterday. We were all up at 4am to get him there, feel exhausted today(without the ride!) The sun was shining and London looked fantastic, we've got everything here too, to exploe but a lousy climate. You're in the right hemesphere to date!!
