Well I tried again to get up to the top of Notre Dame but the same thing happened again. I did get to see the inside of this beautiful cathedral and was amazed by the lead-lighting windows. I also had a good chance to see the ornate carvings on the walls. The details are amazing and I know I keep using "amazing" but there are no other words to describe it. I might have to start using the Thesaurus soon. I did manage to get photos of some of the Gargoyles on the side but not the ones from the top of the Cathedral. The line was so long again and moving so slow that if I waited I would miss the Dali Museum - and there was not a chance I would do that. So I abandoned the line and went in search for Julia which was relatively hard. We both sat about 4 feet from each other without noticing each other for about 30 minutes.
Anyhow once we caught up we headed for the Montmartre area. All I can say is "beautiful"; this is the artist area of Paris. Although the streets were confusing and it took us a while to find the museum but once there I was in awe, Dali is brilliant. They explained his meaning of the weeping clock; they had the sculpture of the long legged elephant with the prism on top, the "Mae West Lip" couch and so much more. I love this place its amazing and worth going to see if you're a surrealist fan.
Julia then took me to an amazing restaurant where for €10-€12 you get this enormous salad with these crisp garlic potato chips which were to die for. Yummy!!! Although Julia wanted to show me the beautiful Basilica of Sacre-Coeur we just didn't have time and I certainly didn't have the energy from the late night at the Moulin Rouge. So we head back to our respective hotels/hostels and I got ready to head for the station. Unfortunately "Cutie Pie" wasn't working today to say good-bye :-(. Got on the Eurostar and headed back to London, was grateful to have a seat to myself yippee.
Got back to London and head for Highams Park where I waited for Jessi as Chris was playing football. Poor Jess had such a bad day and was running late. Once she arrived we dropped my luggage off and then it was time to pick up Chris. We tried to convince him to come to dinner but he said he wasn't hungry but Jess and I think it was because it was the first game for the team he barracks for. So Jess and I had another great meal at The Carvery. A relatively early night for which I am grateful for and it was a good opportunity to tease Chris about their "so called" football.
