Day 290, 20 April 2013, Chicago, Illinois, Brunch in China Town, long drive to visit Lake Michigan in the state of Michigan (via the state of Indiana). Visited the Chopin Theatre for an outstanding production of Shakespeare's Coriolanus (yes - there has been a movie - Ralph Fiennes was in it). Wow - what a day. We had a late start and headed to China Town for an early lunch/late breakfast. The cafe was almost full of local Chinese people - which seemed like a good recommendation. After lunch our friend took us for a drive around the surrounding states and Lake Michigan just to prove how enormous it is - It really does go on forever. We drove for a couple of hours and ended up at New Buffalo Beach (pictured). A pleasant day out, an icecream at the beach. It was such a big day out we barely had time to change for the evening out. We visited the Chopin Theatre for a production of Coriolanus - we read a synopsis of the play before hand and felt completely part of the show - there were only 2 rows of audience and we all got splashed with "blood" by the end of the murderous spectacle. We even met Zygmunt and Lila, the owners of the theatre, after the show. Probably the best Shakespeare experience we've ever had.
