Day 38, 11 August 2012, Arrival at Giza Railway Station, transfer to Pyramids Park Resort, Cairo - After rocking and rolling the night away on the sleeper train from Luxor, we were at the hotel at 9.30 am and proceeded to the gorgeous pool - 95% of which was almost 8 feet deep. Figured this out after I jumped in the deep end. I cruised to the shallows with a gold medal doggy paddle and we whiled away an hour or two reading Egyptian "Insight" magazine - Cosmo local style! We revisited the Egyptian Museum in the afternoon. Only a couple of hours, but with our guide this time and saw many of the monuments and treasures from the sites we have visited over the past week. A visit to an Egyptian perfumery rounded out the day and whilst the perfume blends and oils were neither here nor there, the intricate, delicate glass perfume bottles never cease to fascinate us. We have more chance of winning the Euromillions without a ticket than we do of keeping one intact however - so a photo will do the job admirably. The group had dinner together at Cairo Restaurant - with a view of the pyramids no less. Food was enjoyable - but taking a massive group of Australians to a restaurant with no alcohol is like having a Bachelor party in a monastery. We were actually lucky to make it at all as we had an accidental snooze when we returned from the museum and slept through departure time! We had a great sleep, albeit too short in advance of our Red Sea adventures. Let the games begin!
