Nosheen's travels
Good Morning!
Ive been an early bird today, rising at 6 am to get the free pancakes that the hostel im staying in serves (yummy).
The past few days have by far been my best in Australia so far. We went to Fraiser Island for 2 nights and three days. Initially all three of us were well upset with the group we were put in- us, 1 Irish girl and 6 Israilian boys and 1 turkish boy (great!). But in actual fact we had the best time ever. The Israilian boys were so funny we didnt stop laughing the whole time. Their culture is the best. They're so laid back and love to party all day. We had the best camp parties, dancing all night long on the beach. They looked after us so well and wouldnt let us carry anything (not even a sleeping bag). They were so generous as well, they kept saying 'take take- whats mine is yours and whats yours is yours!' (i liked that one!).
Fraiser Island was stunning. On our first day we had rain (boo), but it didnt stop us!. We hiked through a rain forest to lake Wabbi (a lake surrounded by pure sand dunes). It was like being in the desert but with a lovely lake plonked in the middle. Everyone jumped straight in but i was a wimp so i rolled down the sand dunes instead. On our second day it was baking. The Turkish lad woke us all up at 5 by playing ' I got Sunshine..on a cloudy day'- not best pleased!. We set off in our 4X4 truck to Lake Makensie- my new favouritest place in the whole wide world!. The water was so warm and clear i loved it!. I cant explain how nice it actually was ( check the photos). We also saw the famous ship wreck and paddled in Eli Creek which was pretty cool.
The only part i did not like was the lack of facilities i.e no ladies rooms or showers. We had to go to the 'bathroom' in threes, one person behind and one infront incase the Dingoes (wild dogs) bit our bottys!.
Gill/Sacha- hope you have a good b day.
Mum- yes that is my mobile- it just used to belong to a gilr called Jenny
