Natalie's adventures
Hello!!! Today is my last day in Echuca. I'm heading back to the city. This is what I've been upto while I've been staying at Michelle's house since the last update.
Saturday - I had a lazy morning as Michelle was at work till lunchtime. I did 3 loads of laundry and caught up on some emails. In the afternoon Michelle showed me around the town for a bit then we went home and watched a movie. In the evening we went out to a farm for a BBQ with a load of horsey people. There is a steam, vintage vehicle and horse rally on in Echuca this weekend and Josh (Michelle's fiancee) has a horse so he is involved.
Sunday - Both me and Michelle had to get up early (8.30am) to go out to the farm again. Our job was to video and photograph the horses leaving for the rally. It was really cold outside and neither of us could figure out how to work the video camera so all we managed to tape was sound effects (mainly us getting annoyed with the camcorder). A bit later on I went to Michelle's parents farm and we all piled into her Mam's truck and headed to the rally. There were lots of vintage cars and tractors, steam related things and big Clydesdale horses pulling things (see Echuca photo album, when I get it downloaded). Michelle and me wandered around in the cold trying to look interested but I'm not sure we pulled it off. The best bit of the afternoon was when we went looking for Josh and ended up getting a ride on the cart he was driving. We hitched a ride out of the showgrounds and back to the main road where the car was parked. i nearly had my first proper accident of the trip so far getting down off the cart. Michelle climbed down first and as I was climbing onto one of the wheels to get down the horses decided it was time to get going again, so they started moving with me dangling from the side, much to the amusement of the people behind. The guys managed to stop the horses giving me enough time to jump down and I escaped with just a few bruises. In the evening I managed to start downloading my photos and then watched England lose to Australia in the rugby.
Monday - Michelle took me to the local market and we were going to go on one of the paddlesteamers but decided they were too expensive so we went to a cafe and had Devonshire tea instead!! Mmmm!!!! We watched a dvd in the evening.
Tuesday - Michelle and Josh were back at work so I spent the day ironing and trying to catch up writing in my journal, I'm so far behind!!!
Today I'm catching the 2pm coach back to Melbourne and spending the next 3 nights in St kilda.
