Natalie's adventures
Well I'm still in Canberra, heres the latest!
Friday 23/06/06
Friday is Emma's day off work so we both headed into Civic for some beauty treatments and a bit of shopping. Once I'd had half of my eyebrows removed and Emma's nails were done, it was back home to prepare for a big night out. We dyed my hair (cherry burgendy red accordig to the box) which gave it a purple shine in the light. Matt and Rose (Emma and Dave's friends) arrived in the evening to pick us up and we all went out for a Thai banquet. Then it was cocktails at a bar in Dixon and then onto Civic to a club for a bit of dancing!! It was 2.30am when we called it a night and headed to bed.
Saturday
I didn't make an appearance untill lunchtime, something to do with having a few drinks and a late night!!! Emma and I went to watch Dave play hockey (and we were frozen) in the evening before we all went to the cinema.
Sunday
We all set off to Fyshwick to do some shopping. I needed a new bag to carry all my new warmer clothing. I'm now going to be carrying my rucksack and dragging a holdall on wheels. I really do look like a bag lady now!! We then drove to Redhill to look out from the viewing point over the city. We also drove up Mt Ainslie to get a view from the other side of the city. On the way up Mt Ainslie we saw some Kangaroos!!
Monday
I drove to the Old Parliament House and had a good look around. Afterwards I met up with Dave and Emma in Manuka for a drink and a cake.
Tuesday
Emma was off work sick with a throat infection so I stayed in the house to keep her company. We sat and watched tv all day in our pyjamas!! I'm so lazy!!
Wednesday
I drove to Tidbinbilla nature reserve about 40 mins drive out of Canberra. It was a nice sunny day so I followed a few of the guided walks around the park. There were loads of Kangaroos hanging around and I saw a wild platypus which was exciting because not many people actually get to see them in the wild. I also went to look at the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex. On the drive home I saw a wombat sitting by the side of the road.
