Hitting the Road - Haida Gwaii here we come!
Spences Bridge, British Columbia
Day#1 Travelled from Cultus Lake to Spences Bridge. Only 205 klms, but a nice start to our trip. We camped overnight at a site along the Fraser River. Of course there is a train running along the rivers edge, so it was a bit noisy.
FACT - Lytton sits at the confluence of the Thomspon River and Fraser River. The location has been inhabited by the Nlaka'pamxu people for over 10,000 years and is one of the earliest locations settled by non-natives in the Southern Interior of BC founded during the Fraser Canyon Gold Rush 1858-59, when it was originally known as "The Forks".
Interesting thing we did - We put 5 coins on the railroad track and then bet on how many would be flattened by the train. Martin bet zero and I bet three. We only found three and all were flattened so I won!!! Martin does dishes today!
