Today was a slow day in Berlin. Fatigue finally hit, and I had to take a nap after shopping and gallery hopping. (Such a hard life!). Tonight we go to the ballet and tomorrow Candide. A few nights ago we went to see Poulenc's opera, Gesprache der Karmelitinnen, about some Carmelite nuns who all get beheaded except one after they prepared the Mother Superior for burial while she is completely naked. The thurifer was only half naked since she had a little top on, and, also, she was insane. And, by the way, the 20 or so women sang divinely. It was an absolute pleasure to listen to them. The orchestra was good, too. The weather has cooperated with no rain, quite a bit of sunshine, little wind, and cold but not freezing cold. All in all quite comfortable when you walk all day long.
