Elisabeth The Greeks sound hospitable by the warm welcome you received. Crete is a unique experience and it is good to have plenty of time to take in the environment, not to mention the driver experience near the cliff wall. It sounds as if you are safe now and energetically enjoying the journey with minor time table disruptions. Nice story

Elisabeth Labour Day is also the "8 Hour Week-End" when unions won the battle to reduce the work day to 8 hours, making it 40hrs per week. It was 48 hrs pw. Just read your Godfather experience from Cicily. I am sorry it was a hair raising experience for you but nicely presented story and great reading.

Wanda I hope you two are misbehaving yourselves. Sounds as if, in spite of bad weather, being unwell, you've managed to rally and enjoy the tour/s. It's a public holiday here and I want to know why people aren't working on a day called Labour Day?? Weather has been great to the last few weeks. We're so lucky here in Noosa in our Patch of Paradise.

Elisabeth The provincial regions are beautiful with the narrow streets which were built long before the invention of motorcars. The solid stone structures of the buildings still look solid and lack of contemporary design shows taste in preservation of the landscape.
