Update from Livingston:
We've crossed our 2nd border and arrived safely in Livingston this afternoon. The trip has been awesome so far... some of our highlights:
Long drive from Joburg after a worrying start when we misplaced our cars license disk, and only realised we lost it 10 minutes before we wanted to leave... (no trip is ever hassle free). Got on road (only an hour late) and crossed the border into Botswana in the afternoon. Broke our "don't drive in the night" rule on the first evening trying to get to our campsite, and realised our spot lights aren't working - will need to check them out later. Spend our first night at a campsite called Nata Lodge which was good, and left early the next morning for Ihaha Lodge in Chobe National Park.
Stayed in an awesome campsite right on the Chobe River in the middle of the park - shared the site with a couple of buffalo that got awfully close at times, and some seriously annoying baboons that always seem to be around wherever you go. Chobe has loads of elephants in the park and we spent one afternoon on a boat going down the river and got really close to a 30+ herb that was trying to swim across the river. After that we got back in the car and made our way back to the river where we enjoyed a few beers watching the elephant herbs while the sun was setting - amazing!
Crossed the border into Zambia yesterday morning - took forever but was different because we crossed with the ferry. Tried to use our compressor, but that's also broken... Had a look at it today and got it working...
The Vic falls are amazing and we spend the afternoon on the site enjoying the views and the scenery. Drove to the Waterfall lodge and enjoyed a few local beers (Mosi) on the river while the sun was setting.Went white water rafting today and then heading up to Lusaka and South Luangwa over the next two days.
Will try to keep you all posted as we progress - hope everything back home is going well!
Cheers!
