Hi!!

We have finally made it to the gold coast which has the longest beach I have ever seen and HUGE waves! You are only allowed to swim in one tiny area of the beach because the waves are too dangerous and the lifeguards need to keep an eye on you. It is unbelievably hot in Oz at the moment, I got sunburnt yesterday after walking in the sun for about 5 mins! The van is unbearable to sleep in so it was actually a blessing in disguise that my credit card didn't work because we have to return it tomorrow in Brisbane. We would have had it for another 3 weeks otherwise, argh!!

Every night we have to drive around for ages to try and find a rest spot with a toilet to park up but now that we are near Brisbane thee aren't any rest areas so we have been paying for campsites which means hot showers and toilets but also means that the van is costing us double what it would have been to just stay in hostels! I can;t wait to get to a hostel tomorrow, I just want to chill and watch some tv because its hard to keep yourself entertained all the time.

There are thai restuarants everywhere here and I'm desperate for noodles. We splashed out for some pad thai the other day and it cost 8pound instead of the 30p price in Thailand and it wasn;t even as good! We have been trying desperately to budget but everything costs a fortune, even buying food and cooking it yourself. We are getting pretty sick of pasta now!

Yesterday our treat was watching the Ricky Hatton fight in a pub an having a pub lunch. Keon was worried that we wouldn;t find the fight anywhere so we got to surfers paradise early and there are millions of irish bars here so it was on everywhere. All the pubs were full of irish people and mancs! Half way through the fight they lost the signal so I thought all hell was about to break lose but they got it back after 3 rounds and then he lost as soon as it came on so everyone was really annoyed.

I don't like the time difference here, its too weird that I'm sleeping while your all at work and then your sleeping while I'm up! At least it meant we got to watch the fight at a normal time though!

We're probably going to go and play some crazy golf now!! I'm sure I'll win! There seems to be quite a lot of stuff to do in Queensland, like themeparks and the great barrier reef so we'll probably be staying here for about a week. I hope you all have your christmas festivities in full swing!
