G'day!

How was everybodies weekend? Just one more week and then your off for christmas so I guess nobody is doing any work already!

I had my first surf lesson today and it was so much fun but 100 times harder than I imagined it would be! When you watch somebody else do it you think that you just jump up on it but its impossible and you go so fast that its hard to do anything other than just cling on! We had 3 stages of the lesson so first of all we just had to lie on it and let the wave take us, then we had to control the direction we went and after that we learn how to stand.

Me and Koen were rubbish, everyone had stood up by the time we had a break apart from us. I just kept completely wiping out and the surf board is so heavy that I could barely lift it! Then I kept on crashing into everyone! There were loads of kids in our group so they were all fearless. Then he showed us the way the simple way to stand up for 'special' people like us and we still couldn't get it! I managed to stand up during the 2 hour lesson but luckily the camera guy say me so I have proof that I am a surfer chick now! (I'm uploading the pics now so have a lookie!) We got certificates and surfer dude t-shirts afterwards so I'll be wearing that non-stop from now on to pretend I'm cool!

We're planning on hiring some boards tomorrow to have a practice for a few hours but I doubt I'll be able to move because my arms are killing me already! I'm getting my hair done tomorrow which is very exciting as I look very foolish with my roots down by my ears!

Now I need everybodie's help as to what hat to bring on the boat for christmas, Should I have the traditional santa hat, an elf hat (we have found out that if I put my hair behind my ears I am very elf like!) or a christmas tree hat!?

You'll be happy to know it is raining slightly here at the moment but its still about 20 degrees so I can't cmplain! We're going out on the town now, theres a cool piano bar here where everybody joins in for a sing song so that should be fun!

Auntie M - They sell Ugg boots everywhere here but nobody is wearing them because it is so hot. I will be sending home about 10 pairs as soon as I get a job because they are about half price. I think they wear them in the outback in the winter because it gets chilly. Also I'm not sure I will be able to speak to anyone on Jesus' birthday because I'll be in the middle of the sea. I will be back on Boxing day though so if you stay up late on christmas day then I will be able to speak to you due to the freaky time difference. I don't know how we are going to figure out new years eve though, I think we should all celebrate both!

Ali - Stop promoting your drunken panto people on my message wall!! Book us in for 10 tickets next christmas!? How did MK's panto compare? Did you boo them?
