Happy Mother's day to all you mums and grandmas out there!

Its a lovely day in Fiji today, at least 30 degrees so the sea is like a bath! We actually went to church this morning at a local village and they were so welcoming it was amazing. They asked to fill in a log book and then during the mass they welcomed us all and said that they felt blessed that we had gone because tourists hardly ever leave the resorts. There was only 5 of us there from the hostel and about 50 Fijians and every single one of them came and shook our hands. The singing was amazing too, we all felt so lucky that they allowed us to go there.

On Friday I had a busy day of making lots of jewellery and chilling by the pool. I went horse riding along the beach and then they take you up a huge mountain so that you can see the views. I was terrified that I would fall off the horse and Lisa, the girl I was with has been riding for years and even she was scared. Afterwards we just rode up and down the beach for a bit. It was really good fun and another fear conquered for me because I'm not usually a fan of horses!

After that we decided to have a celebratory bottle of wine which turned into 4 and we were really drunk. We ended up jumping in the pool with all our clothes on and then swimming in the sea. We kept trying to get in a little rowing boat and I woke up covered in bruises from all the times I failed to get in!

We were drinking Kava too which is a traditional Fijian drink. They have a huge wooden bowl and they add water to these bags of powder and then everyone drinks it one by one from coconuts but you have to clap once before and three times after. Its not very nice but we magaed to drink quite a lot.

The next morning I was in pain all over and had an awful hangover. We literally couldn't move for the entire day, it was pretty funny. I ordered food for my lunch and couldn't bear to touch it when it arrived! We decided that even though the hangover was awful it was probably worth it because we had such a good night!

I only have 2 more nights here now and then I'm heading back to Sydney, I don't want to leave. Its been really lovely in Fiji, especially now that the weather is gorgeous.
