Having decided to go and visit Bariloche in Argentina I got the bus at 9am (Fri 30th). We arrived a bit later than expected due to some sort of problem with a couple of people on the bus who would not be allowed across to Argentina so they took them back to the stop where they got on! Fri 16/3 Today was my day for visiting the famous glacier Perito Moreno which is situated about 90 minutes from El Calafate. After considering the options I decided to just get the bus there rather than do a tour as it would be a bit cheaper and go out on a boat only if I wanted to once I got there. Tues 13/3 As well as looking at flights to go to my next destination I had also been giving thought to booking the Navimag ferry which takes you north through the Chilean fjords in Patagonia. Several people had recommended it to me as a good way to travel north and I knew I wanted to take it. Fri 9/3 I took the bus to Ushuaia from Puntas Arenas which took 11 hours, one less than expected:-) It left at 9am so not too early a start. The bus journey was fine and we also did a short ferry across the Strait of Magellan which takes you into Tierra del Fuego.
