We stopped in at Beagle Bay at the Sacred Heart Church. Pearl shells are a big part of the design inside and the alter appeared in the movie Bran Nue Dae. Leaving the Gibb River Road we went into Derby to look at the low and high tides at the jetty which are the 9th biggest in the world. The jetty has only rails on one side so at low tide it is a strange feeling to look over the edge with the big drop. Watching the gush of water rush in gives a great understanding on how fast the water is moving which it needs to in order to rise approximately 10m in 6 hours. It was a slow drive out at about 10 km/h until we hit the main road. We were able to average about 30-40km/h after this making the trip a bit more bearable. To avoid taking the broken trailer on any more rough roads then need be, we chose a free camp on Gibb River Road rather than the planned Windjana Gorge.
