Nikki's Travels
It took us the best part of 2 days on boats, buses and on the back of open air trucks (a bit dodgy) to reach Phi Phi and when we arrived exhausted and fed up it stank and looked pretty skanky. Our room wasn't the best either with cold running water which also stank, a small rusty fan and a few resident pets, namely cockroaches, lizards and plenty of mosquitos - nice... Needless to say we were in a bit of a mood by this point! Thankfully the lads that we've been travelling around with were quite helpful in removing most of the bugs and were staying at a nicer hostel up the road where we spent most of our evenings.
We woke up in a better mood and soon began to love the place after a good night out at the local beach bar 'hippies' enjoying (?!) the local buckets of drink they serve here, which are pretty evil as Gill later found out in Ko Phangang (very poorly indeed!) Shes ok now though! ;) Danny however took a late night swim in the sea and dived into a rock hitting his side (see photos) and spent the next few days limping around, i don't think i was very sympathetic though- sorry danny!
The beaches on Phi Phi were gorgeous but it was pretty strange to see some of the damage the tsunami caused when it hit the beach a couple of years back. We ended up staying in Phi Phi for about 5 nights and managed to get to the half moon party at our fave bar hippies and then headed across to Ko Phangang in time for the full moon party at Hat Rin. Ko Phangang was ok, it was brilliant for beach partys but not as gorgeous as Phi Phi and just a bit too crazy for me!
Yesterday we had to leave the lads that we've been travelling with which was sad because we've had a brilliant 3 weeks together... they've also come in very handy for carrying bags etc! Thanks boys. Now we're back in Bangkok to catch our flight home tomorrow and after a bit of last minute shopping thats it, travels over!
We've had the best time while we've been away and have loved all of it, but spending the last month in thailand with all its skank and dirt has definetely made us crave our home comforts and now we can't wait to get back to our own beds!!!
Thankyou for all your messages i've loved hearing from you, if your in Frome i'll hopefully see you very soon..... guinnies anyone?!!!
Love you all,
Bye for the last time, Nikki xxxxxx
