OK, so I know a postcard from Basingstoke is hardly going to make you jealous just yet, but the next one is likely to be from Rio, which I'm sure will have a bigger effect!!!

Thanks so much for all your emails and messages on the board wishing me well - it means a lot to me - thanks for your support.

I wanted to let you all know about and invite you to come along to my going away party - well, it wouldn't be right just to disappear without doing some serious partying beforehand! So, the details are as follows:

When: Saturday 3rd February 2007
What time: 7.30 pm onwards
Where: ‘B’ Bar, then Jasmine Restaurant, Windsor

The plan is to meet up in ‘B’ Bar in Windsor at 7.30 pm for a drink. For those of you who don’t know Windsor, the address is 3-4 Thames Street, SL4 1PL – it’s right opposite the Castle. Thames Street is the main road going through Windsor Town Centre. For those of you who do know Windsor, ‘B’ Bar used to be the Slug and Lettuce.

I’ve booked a table at the Jasmine Restaurant for 8.30 pm, which is literally 2 minutes walk down the road (near the theatre). It’s a Chinese restaurant (lovely food) and after you’ve finished dinner everyone heads to the dance floor to get down to the cheesy disco! It’s £27 per head, but that includes three-course dinner – set menu with loads of dishes to share around and disco dancing until 1.00 am! If anyone needs hotel accommodation, there is an Innkeepers Lodge in Old Windsor (short taxi ride from Windsor town centre) that is £57.50 per room per night, or there are nicer (more expensive) options in Windsor itself – let me know if you need a hand booking something.

Can I ask you to let me know ASAP if you can make it as I need to pay a deposit to the restaurant.

I've promised myself that I definitely WON'T be crying, getting emotional or totally embarrassing myself in any other way, but it's anybody's guess if I'll keep that promise! You know what I'm like after a couple of shandies!

Anyway, I really hope you can make it – it will be a great night and I’d love to see you all before I go.
