Wow, such a lot has happened since we were last in contact. To start, we travelled up to Chiang Mai for some Trekking which was, to say the least, and experience - I'd like to call it a death defying experience! Our tour guide was called Tong and was a lovely guy, very kind and funny...but also very forgetfull and got lost a lot. not what you want really when you're in a thai jungle in the midday sun with Golden orb spiders hanging around! We rode elephants and trekked for about 5 hours on the first day. This was fine until we came to a river, we had to walk up this as the jungle closed off here, so in we went. Not knowing that it would soon turn into a waterfall which we would have to scale! this was the scary part, there were no steps or anything, just slippery jagged rocks and rushing waters. Very scary! we stayed in a village the night and went rafting the next day. This was the start of Songkran - Thai New Year. 3 days solid of water war!! If was SO much fun. Everyone is out on the streets lobbing buckets of water over everyone, it's brutal...specially the ones with ice water. After a week here we headed back down to Bangkok for a night of luxury before travelling down to Kho Samui where we have just arrived today. SOme storms have started so we're gutted, so much for the beach holiday!! Hope you are all well. Lots of love Nik and Kev xxx
