Foster's Tour
Hi every one.
Hope you are all well.
Have been all over since the last entry.
After the last one from Chang Mai i went for a walk to see some temples in the area, and had a chat with a monk, wich was fun and intresting (dont think ill join him any time soon though).
The next morning we set off on the treck after stopping off at a waterfall which we all had a swim in...its a hard life, i do struggle at times. The first walk was for 2 hours not too bad but the heat and carrying your small bag killed (left the big bags at hotel in Chang Mai) We walked through pure jungle and mountains tripping up all over the place, dam tree roots !
We arived in a village were the karan people live. very basic, one big hut for us all to sleep in and no electricity. after lunch the guide told us all about the area, the 3 different tribes, herb medicine, and their way of life. He also told us why some tribes have rings around their neck, and its because in old days there was a story of tigers biting people on the next so they wore the rings so they couldnt bite, and people just carried on doing it.
After that we all sat around a camp fire playing a game called mafia, top game if any one knows it, all about killing each other by lying (i never lie so wasnt used to it !! )
After a bad nights sleep had a cold shower (not loving it) and set off on a 3 hour treck to the elephant camp. They are soooo big and rough !! (a bit like me hahaha ) You never quite know where they are going, but decided to slide down off my chair that was on its back and slide down to sit on its head, didnt stay their long as 95% chance that i was about to die of fear !! only did it because katie the girl i was sat next to did it and called me not very nice names untill i decided to do it, bullying i hate it.
The elephant took us to the next village which was a little bigger, the kids came to see us and we all played together and they sang songs for us and showed us what they did at school, they go to school on a sunday and come back on a fridays !!! oh my !! they were sooo qute and fun to be around every one made us feel comfortable.
slept a little better, but again in the morning the shower is just a bucket of water (cold) that you tip over you head over and over, oh the fun. after brecki, set off on the bamboo rafts, these were alot of fun, got pushed in the river by one of the village people, oh how i laughed ! but all in good spirit and got my own back which is what counts.
then got the mini bus back to Chang Mai. Just as i stepped into the hotel stubbed my toe on the step and cut my big toe, which would not stop bleeding (quite a bad cut if im honest, dam flip flops) im not going to lie it hurt.....alot but being a man i held back the tears.
Later that night went to go see the main lady boy show, was all a good laugh till they decided to come into the audiance and kiss people and dance with them, i escaped honest but a few others in the group didnt, john turnbull you would of been in heaven !! ps what was the rothwell v ilkley score ??
any way moving on. next day overnight train back to bangkok for a few days, went to a market that was bigger than the world its self !! no word of a lie. bought too much ...... again but rude not to when soo cheap.
