Hey Everyone hope your all ok and not missing us too much!!
So we are now in New Zealand and its very cold, in fact bloody freezing!!! We set off from Fiji on time but after 20 mins the captain told us there was a little problem so just to be on the safe side we were turning round and landing back in Fiji for the engineer to take a look. He sounded quite calm so it all seemed ok, until the flight attendant told us twice to check that seatbelts were tightly fastened. Needless to say it was quite a long 20 mins return to Fiji and everyone was completely silent. We had a bumpy landing back in Fiji but it was ok, until we had a 3 hour wait with the mozzi's biting us to death (again) . Apparanlty something to do with the flaps on the plane when that was fixed we were back on our way.
We picked up our tiny white car (which nearly blows over if you sneeze near it) and headed into Auckland. We loved Auckland, its a nice size city with a pretty harbour. Shopping is rubbish compared to US though!!
We then headed down to Rotorua...it stinks of trumps!! and no it wasnt an excuse I made up, although I did get away with a few bad smells by blaming the sulphur!). We stayed between 2 gorgeous lakes, we have never seen scenary like it its beautiful the colours are amazing. We also visited a thermal area and saw some mud pools, sulphur pools and volcanic craters. One day we went to a real Mauri village and got a guided tour and saw a cultural performance. There were kids in a freezing cold river waiting for tourists to throw them coins which they would dive for then keep it in there mouths!! On our last day in Rotorua we went in a warm mineral rock pool on the edge of the lake it was lovely really pretty view and warm!! Only thing was we went for tea later and realised we stank of sulphur (trumps) ha ha glad we wont see those people again.
There was then a long drive in the tiny car to Wellington not actually sure how the car made it. We stayed in a lodge on the sea front it was amazing. The view from our window was fantastic. We didnt like Wellington city as much as Auckland there wasnt a massive amount to do apart from a brilliant museum it was massive.
Today we got up and drove to Lake Taupo seems very pretty hopefully it will stop raining tommorow so we can see abit more of it. Then we head back to Auckland for our flight to Sydney and Rianna! Exciting.
Well thats us for now. Keep checking out the pics and writing us messages its nice to hear from everyone. Wish you were all here with us we are having a fantastic time.
