Tuesday 10 April
Woke at 7am - mainly due to the heat which despite an Air conditioned room was excessive.
June and I walked around the local area for 30 minutes - just sussing out the beach etc before we walked back to the apartment to pick up Shelley.
We then had a simple breakfast of toast and croissants before hittng the beach. Kata noi beach is much more secluded and quieter than its larger brother - Kata beach. Kata Noi also has fantastic snorkeling along the rocks on the southern end of the beach. Within a few metres of the shore it feels as though you are swimming in a tropical fish tank and that any moment Nemo is going to come swimming out of a rock crevice. Big fish, small ones, titchy ones - Blue, red and green… hundreds of different species of tropical fish swim within inches of you. Shelley loved every minute and was fascinated by the fish - great think to do. After lunch we waked back to our villa and cleaned up and spent the rest of the day relaxing. June went for a massage - 400 thai Baht (£8) and Shelley went to get her nails painted 200 Thai Baht (£4). In the evening we caught a Taxi to Kata - much more livelier but not yet up to the level of Patong. Had a great meal in the Horngrill Steakhouse - £50 for the 3 of us which included a bottle of wine ……Great VFM
