Today I set off to the Chianti region for Tuscan wine tasting. The scenery of rolling green hills was stunning.
We went to two wineries and tried numerous delicious wines as well as the most amazing truffle olive oil and balsamic vinegar (all made at the vineyard).
We also got a lovely lunch of bruschetta, cheese, salami, breads and pasta.
We then finished off at San Gimignano, a lovely medieval village, with whats known as the 'worlds greatest gelato' and I would agree.
For dinner I went to an aperitivo restaurant, which you buy a drink, and then you can eat unlimited food from the buffet for free. It was fantastic, there was a variety of salads, marinated vegetables, pastas, meats and fruit (I ate way too much, surprise surprise).
I then went to a few bars with some people I met during the wine tour and then headed home to bed.
