I arrived in Malaga after midnight the other day. My train had been delayed in the cordoba station for 2 hours or so. It was very stressful as I can almost swear that I was the only one on the journmey who couldnt speak spanish. Anyway, after crashing asleep, i woke up the next morning and went to explore malaga. The picasso mueseium was great! over air conditioned but great. I then wandered the steets and learnt that there is a festival going on here. So there are people drinking and lots of music and spontaneaous flamenco and guitar. Its great!
On to my next hostel which was actually in the most ugly, tacky, neon place i have ever seen in my life. Its horrible there and i was very upset about this s*** hostel slash town. Anyway i did a day trip the next day to get away from the trash, and ended up in the most beautiful place of mijas-shown in the photo.
Its a really quaint wee white washed village. There i watched a flamenco show, then walked throught the hot, narrow, desserted streets. I stopped in for tapas at a bar and ended up staying for like 45mins and drinking beer and watching tv with the spanish grandpas there! Finally i sat down and read/watched people walk by.
I booked myself out of this horrible tacky torremolinos and back into malaga for one night. In the morning i climbed to the top of the castle hill, and had a great view of the city. At lunch I met a girl in a cafe, and we ended up roaming the carnival streets. Then we met more people and all headed to the beach. very very dirty, when i was smwimming i just picked up a watermelon rind floating past me... ew.. That night me and the guys went to a theme park/club venue. there we drank wine and lemonade- its popular here. Then we went on a bunch of crazy rides, where we got thrown around while lights were flshing and music was blaring and everyone is screaming and laughing like nutters. Very fun.
So today I might check out the Alcazabar, the festival and the picasso mueseum again as its free for 18 and under and then its on to Seville-one of the hottest places in Spain 40-48 degrees celcius so im very very scared.
