Hey everybody.
I have been traveling up the east coast for 3 weeks now. I started off in Coffs Harbour which was really quiet, and then on to Byron Bay which was gorgeous. I saw loads of whales from the lighthouse.
From there i traveled up to Brisbane for a few days. Really loved the South bank here.
Then it was on to Fraser Island, the most fun part of my trip so far. Eleven of us in a dodgy 4x4, bouncing along miles of beaches, and then going swimming in champagne pools in the rain. What could be more fun (but it really was a great laugh). We saw loads of dolphins, and sea turtles and stingrays from Indian head on the island.
After this amazing safari i swapped a 4x4 for a sailing boat called the 'boomerang', and set sail for the Whitsunday islands. I had my first experience of snorkeling and of sleeping and getting drunk on a boat. We stopped at whitehaven beach for the afternoon which was really beautiful.
I then stopped off at Magnetic island for the night in the pouring rain, but i held a koala, a crocodile, a snake and lizard which made the trip a bit better. We then had toad racing in our hostel which was the funniest thing i have sen in a while, and s it was well worth the choppy ferry crossing just for that.
My last stop is Cairns (which is where i am now, lapping up the well overdue sunshine). I have been up to Kuranda on a scenic railway and down on the skyrail (very touristy). Tomorrow i am off white water rafting and then im being dropped in the middle of the ocean on tuesday for another snorkeling session on the great barrier reef.
Following this i will be off to Cape Tribulation for a few days and trying my hand at jungle surfing. So provided i survive my action packed week i will update my blog again once i have chance.

ps next im swapping the beaches and coastline for the outback and flying to alice springs to see the great rock (ayres).
