SO NOW FOR THE MAMMOTH JOURNEY....
Thursday we spent the morning packing and having breakfast with the boys before we had to leave them. At 1pm we said goodbye (tear tear? lol) and got an a tutut to the docks. From there we got on a boat to Koh Samui. It was packed so we had to sit up top and burn for 2 hours!! When we got to Koh Samui we got a shared minibus to the next dock. HOWEVER the drivewr was a lunatic driving soooo fast, overtaking on blind corners and everyone was s***ting themselves!! When some other guy asked politely for him to slow down the driver told us the last boat to main thailand left in 10 minutes and that if he didnt go fast we wouldnt make it So then we were scared but glad he was driving like a mad man! We arrived at the dock at 5.55pm and the boat left at 6pm. Me and Emma left our bags with Ged and Sarah and ran to buy tickets. We got the tickets and when we turned around we saw Ged and Sarah running with not only there backpacks, mybackpack, Emmas backpack, my bad, emmas bag (Zebra) i dont know how they didnt collapse!! Im proper weak and can barely carry my own backpack. We ran and just made it onto the ferryr. Relax!!!
The ferry was about 1 and half hours. It was really empty and we could now relax and get a beer (or coke in my case) We then sat back and watched the sunset! It was absolutely beautiful and made us all get emotional! We had all those gay talks about why we were there, how amazing travelling is and how right now there wasnt anywhere in the world more beautiful! GAYS!! Even Ged joined in!!
When we got off the boat we started to walk, emma and sarah were sure there was a restaurant around there somewhere. They were WRONG! We were walking into nowhere. Suddenly we saw a bus and luckily it stopped. It turned out it stopped outside the boat and we should have got straight onto it!!
We got off the coach in the middle of Surat Thani. Everything was written in malaysian, NOT a tourist area. Nowhere for food either and we were all starving (hadnt eaten since 11am) We finally found a pizza place and ordered food there. Then we got in another cab to the night train. We got there at 10pm and the train was late so didnt get on it till 1am. Had few hours to waste reading!
As we were waiting for the train there were some well dodgy malaysian boys who were blatently looking at us to see what they could steal. We finally got onto the night train and found out beds. Such a random experience but im so glad ive done a night train. My bed wasnt too bad but i slept holding all my stuff because it was proper dodgy. You had a curtain but expected a hand to come through to grab you during the night!! I even had my bim bag on for my passport cards money and phone. Im sure you will be happy to here that girls!!!
he night train was so fast i thought we were gonna crash a lot!! Also there were malaysian army men with guns walking round!!
We finally got off the night train at 12pm the next day. We then walked across the malaysian border. It was sooooo hot and carrying your backpack so i had no energy to take photos but it was cool! Emma, Sarah and Ged had overstayed their visa so had to pay 500 baht, about 10 pounds, to the police whilst i waited with the bags. It was so hot loads of people kept telling me to get in the shade and the army gave me water to drink which I thought was sweet. We then got in a cab to Kuala Busut. We waited there for a speedboat the the Perhentian Islands. The boat left at 5.30pm and was the scariest boat ride ever!!! The water was so choppy and the guy just went faster and faster. Evryone on the speedbpat was english, we were all s***ting ourselves, holding on for dear life and getting soaked! I was being squahed into some poor guy because of all the backpacks! At 6pm. 29 hours after we left our hotel in Koh Tao, we arrived in paradise!!!!
