We were woken up this morning by Andreas at 8am. We had to leave by 8:30am. We had a quick breakfast and then had to go. We were the last group to leave so Andreas was going faster than usual in the 4x4. We stopped at a place where there was a lot of coral (i think that was the name), and then went on to this lagoon where there was flamingos. It was so cool that I saw flamingos, but after a while, and enough pictures, I was ready to move on because it was really cold outside...
I also saw llamas, foxes, hares, and other cool wild animals. We passed by an active volcano and a mountain that had seven colours. We had lunch near a lake that contained a lot of sulfur. How do I know? The smell! This place also had public bathrooms, but charged 5 bolivianos. I really had to pee, but what was worse is that they had signs everywhere forbidding everyone (especially guys) to urinate in the wild (apparently I wasn't the only one thinking of cheating the system...).
I told Andreas how stupid I thought this was and he brought me to this area in back of the restaurant where there was a pee stain (apparently I was not the only one that peed there...). After lunch, we went off to see a stone tree and a lagoon with red water.
We finally arrived to our hostel at around 3pm. The reason why we got there so early was because Andreas told us that if we had arrived later, there would probably be no more rooms available. Being there so early, made us a bit bored. Thee german girls had bavarian playing cards so we decided to play a bavarian game in which they taught me. We played in teams and Dany and I ended up winning. It was a good thing that they had a little fireplace where we were because, like last night, it was freezing! When we had supper, Andreas offered us a bottle of wine with our dinner. It was really nice of him! After supper, there were some French guys who had normal playing cards, and we all decided to play "a******". We were a lot of people playing including these newlyweds (James and Becky) from England.
Once the lights went out (because electricity is limited in the desert) at around 9:30am I decided to go to bed while the others continued plaing with flashlights. We had to get up at 5am the next morning so I felt that it was the responsible thing to do. Another cold night in the desert...
By the way, I would like to wish a Happy Birthday to my brother, David. Even though I am on vacation, I did not forget...
