Today i went endured that long tiresome walk back up to Dos D'ane primary school where i was greeted by all the children warmly. Today was there first of two consecutive sports days.
The weather was beautiful, but near enough 30•C , the children were rearing to go. Before the sports began Mrs Cambran told the children that they were all winners and that as long as they passed the line there team would be rewarded
Mrs Cambran called all the children to assembly, i waited eagerly to be ushered into a nice air conditioned hall, but nope, the children stood beautifully outside and sang praise to the lord before reciting the first verse of the national anthem, pledging there aligence to their flag and then echoed the lords prayer.
The first event was the cross country-down to the bus stop, run around the block before running back up the vicious hill to the finish line. I grew tired even thinking about it, but the childrens sprits were still sky high as they raced down the hill to the starting line.
When the children finally staggered back to the finish line you tell the infants saw no hope in managing to cross that faint white line, but even though those who had finished were all hot and bothered they cheered there teams on so loud, that everyone finished the race.
All the children got up and raced to get what seemed to be a bag of frozen milk that they ate like a lollipop.
Up next was rounders, Reggie reminded me of the rules and showed me the massive stones that they used as posts.
After watching 3 games of rounders i walked the journey home.
I started to make tuna pasta for lunch only for darius and darvic to appear and explain that they were hungry as well.
With our bellys full we proceeded to watch Notorious and have a siesta, only to wake up and find we were hungry once more
