Hi, the last entry from LA seems to have been cut off half way through so lost a lot of interesting facts about our last road trip into California which I expect you're gutted about! The main bits were visiting Kings Canyon and Sequioa National Parks, Yosemite National Park, the 'ghost town' of Bodie, an old gold mining town deserted after the gold ran out and Death Valley National Park on the way back.
Anyway, since then we went back to LA for a couple of nights, stayed in Hollywood and Venice Beach and had a nice day walking around Venice and the canals it is famous for. We then caught an overnight train to Alburquerque, New Mexico. The trains are very comfortable here, much more room than at home and have a food carriage and a scenic lounge carriage so despite the incredibly slow journey and weird American people surrounding us, it wasn't a bad trip.
Stayed in Santa Fe for a couple of nights to look around the city. Very different to anywhere else we've been in America, the buildings are all made of adobe if that means anything to you...they're all sandy coloured with rounded edges. I think the pictures will better explain! A lot of history in the area so it was an interesting place. We then decided to hire another car for a week from there to take us all the way to Vegas where we will arrive tomorrow if everything goes to plan. On the way we drove through northern New Mexico into Utah and have been to Arches and Bryce National Park and will be going to the Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks later today and tomorrow....
Had a stop over for Michael to watch the Champions League final which ended in dissappointment with Liverpool deserving to win (that's obviously Michael's input for this entry!)
We're booked to stay in Circus Circus casino for most of our time in Vegas, only costing about twenty quid a night so a real bargain.
