Hello everyone, we've made it across South America in one piece! Arrived in Rio yesterday after a 25 odd hour bus journey from Iguassu.
Since we last wrote we spent a few days in the capital of Argentina, Buenos Aires. It's a very big European style city and we just spent the days wondering around taking in the sights. We also visited the football stadium of Boca Juniors, a famous Argentinian side and had a tour of the place. The stadium is a bit of a crumbling mess, apart from the bits for the rich and Maradonna's box. Shame we couldn't see it full up for a game. Walked around the Boca area too and had lunch in one of the colorful streets.
Moved on from Buenos Aires to Iguassu Falls in north eastern Argentina on the border with Brazil, another overnight bus journey to get there. Spent one day on that side walking around on top and below of the falls before moving to the Brazilian side the next day and viewing the falls from that side. The Falls are amazing and massive. A lot of different sections of falls make up a long curving stretch of river, the photos will be up soon to give you a better idea! Got very wet both days as you get so close the spray just soaks you.
Then came our last mammoth bus journey to Rio where we are now until the early hours of the 6th. Did some exploring today and went up Sugar Loaf mountain by cable car for excellent views over the city (same cable car that stars in the James Bond film with Jaws we learnt!). Also walked virtually the entire length of Copcabana beach enjoying the first bit of sunshine and heat we've had in a month. Lots of bikini clad women parading their bits and speedo wearing men making you feel ill whilst diving around on the sand playing volleyball or football.
Got a couple more days to explore Rio before flying back to LA for lots more hot dogs and baseball. We also have a 10 hour stopover in Panama on the way back so will probably try to have a look around the city there.
Bye for now xxx
