Spoiler alert; Please try not to read these next two blogs if you are having a particularly bad week/you're grumpy/need a holiday.
The small delay in this blog post is simply due to the fact that we've been having too much fun I'm beautiful Brazil to have time up until now....
So we saw iguazu falls from the Brazilian side of the border (the falls are so big that they span the borders of Argentina, Brazil and Paraguay). The first day we took a cheeky helicopter ride over them which was awesome. We then made a 30 minute stroll take about 4 hours just because of the sheer amount of jaw-dropping photography opportunities (which nic was obviously very keen to take advantage of). That said, it's pretty difficult to capture in a picture the fact that the falls throw over 1000 cubic metres of water every second, and there are somewhere near 164 separate waterfalls all within the same area.
The second day we went to see the falls from the national park on the Argentinian side (which involved a fairly epic amount of border crossings and plenty of stamps for our passports). It's amazing that the landscape and the rainforest around is so different on this side of the border (which obviously necessitated 500,000 more photo opportunities). Unfortunately it was raining pretty heavily so the photos are made slightly more hilarious by the presence of red riding hood /gnome style ponchos and soggy hair accompanying grins.
Our day was rounded off by a boat ride through the falls. We were given water proof bags bags to put our things in, told to take off our shoes and the boat went across the rapids and directly under two waterfalls: needless to say there wasn't a dry inch of skin to be found amongst the group and there was plenty of girly screaming.
Our few days in iguazu were rounded off rather nicely by an evening out with our group in which we discovered Brazil's famous caipirinhas, flaming shots, and a bit of Brazilian clubbing (only a bit...we got in by 5). Tomorrow we're off to paraty via Sao Paolo for a bit of Brazilian paradise...

Aunt S It is SO hard reading this when I will have to be and onto the train at 06.30hrs tomorrow to head to work! Sounds fantastic - great word pictures. Enjoy xx
Elaine Hi Gemma and Nicola - yes, quite agree, Iguazu Falls are utterly astonishing. I went there a couple of days before you did. Wish I could have been with you all! Please say hi to everyone in the group. I'm on an Intrepid Foodie Tour now - great so far.
Lauren I'd just like to point out that the skies in Britain are grey and it is raining. That is all. So glad you're having such a lush time! Can't wait to see the pics x
