Aza, Nicky, greetings from Nha Trang, sounds like you had a journey from Hell!, same on the bus from Hoi An, we were delayed 5 1/2 hours due to the rain and a crash. i loved Hio An, see my blog, get a bike and go for lunch at Son (red bridge road), it's worth it even if the weathers crap.
The weather was ok here this afternoon after a monsoon overnight/this morning. Nice beach here, looks like a bit of a party town. As i was knackered i stopped at the hotel that the bus dropped us off, i walked a while but found nothing better, rooms are onlt $7 with sat tv, double bed, air con etc absolutly fine. Won't see you as i'm heading down to Hi Chi Ming tomorrow night.
Enjoy, might see you along the way

Hey guys, to say the least I am jealous! That sounds like one kick ass trip so far, and no shortage of adventure, awesome scenery and rice wine by the sounds of things. That Vietnamese coffee must pack a punch cos it sounds like that is what is keeping you guys going! I will have to organise myself a crazy trip like this one! Keep the posts coming, Tim

Fantastic blog entries and photos, guys! Wow what a fantastic time you are having. Halong Bay just blows you away doesn't it - or was that the cheap vodka?! Looks warmer than when we visited in early March several years ago. The trek sounded a challenge - and to be invited to a local wedding is real bonus. You can't order that up from a travel agent! And Aza what's with the green t-shirt? Only seen you in black T's before! Keep up the great postings - we look forward to them... Love D & M xox

okay so i totally love reading your blog :) i love how detailed you get and wish i was back there, seeing all these incredible things like you are, my trip to vietnam consisted mostly of what i could see out of taxi windows and the four walls of our hotel, i will send you a long email later explaining why, but lets just say it was not my kind of trip :) anyway i heard from karen (highschool) that halong bay is amazing, so i am sure you guys will have a great time :) and glad to hear that you are keeping up with the o.e. tradition and the mass amounts of drinking, anyway can't wait for the next bit :) mands xoxo

Hey guys, great to hear you are enjoying yourselves, a shame about all the flights and taxi rides going awry, but it wouldn't be a proper holiday without it! Vietnam certainly sounds like a happening place to be! Summer is in full swing here, windy nor'west and sun! Cheers, Tim

wow sounds amazing so far, especially the market, i never made it there, but did go into town in hanoi, there is a great market place in the tourist area and it only cost me like four dollars from our hotel to get there (it was about a twenty minute ride)... anyway at night the shops all close and it is just full of street vendors selling hordes of shoes and clothes... got an awesome chess set there though :)
and the live frogs, ewwwwwwww!!! but what an experience... i was reading it to nick and felt that you totally explained the situation when crossing the street to a tee... can't wait to read more, sounds like you guys are having a blast so far... mands xoxo

So pleased to hear that all is off to a good start! Also glad you discovered the unnerving method of crossing roads - its best not to look! We just got back from an amazing walk in the Blue Mountains. About 3 hours around this huge canyon and the path was an amazing feat of engineering halfway up a cliff. Last night's storm cooled things down a bit. I occasionally took motorcycle taxis in Hanoi but you need to negotiate your fare in advance. Ask at your hotel. Anyway, go well. M & Dxox

Hope you guys are well arrived in HCMC, and will recover enough to get to Hanoi without falling over! Looking forward to seeing your first posting...
We are enjoying our break in Oz - the Blue Mountains are gorgeous but very hot. Thunderstorm expected which will cool things a little. Planning some long walks tomorrow...
