We'll be thinking of you enjoying a nice sunny Aussie birthday, so just make sure you spare a thought for us in the snow - it's freeeeeeeeezing! Actually, I've just had a thought, we could make a life sized snownick in the garden - brussel sprouts for eyes, a carrot for the nose, and a chocolate hobnob for the mouth. It should work quite well! A music book in one hand, and my car keys in the other, and it would look quite realistic!

Hi bruv, happy birthday for tomorrow/today! Finally broken up from school... Got many bottle-shaped and chocolate box-shaped presents under the tree! Unwrapping them soon though! Kids had a DVD in the hall in the afternoon and were supervised by the head and deputy, so all the teachers sorted their classrooms and packed up their cars during this time so they could leave straight after the kids! Looking forward to lie ins!!!

Hi! Love the vid and pictures! I was at the hostel in Katoomba too, but it was in 1987! I remember the hills as being very, very blue. Kind of fitted. Have a fab Christmas and New Year, nothing like 40oc heat on Xmas day!

Je suis tres jealous! You get all the views and sunshine and we get the cold and a view of the motorway on the way to and from work! By the way, why are they called the Blue Mountains?! Were they very blue?

We had snow in Hook at the end of the school day - I think the kids recon it'll settle and they'll have more snow days just like last year - likely story! It soon stopped but remained blooming cold! I've had my second 12.5 hour day of the week already and it's only Tuesday! Had the school disco y'day and a carol concert today - where we sang our Staff Song 'We're all going on a Christmas Holiday' to the tune of Summer Holiday by Cliff Richard! You'd've been very proud! Everyone found it very entertaining, whilst I could feel my face getting more and more red!

I'll try and put some pics of our Christmas tree up - once I've wrapped yours and G's presents up. He's checking mine now apparently, because it arrived today, but I've no idea what it is!

Glad you had a lovely time with the family... One of the teachers from school is off out there tomorrow, so watch out for her! I've told her to look out for a taller, lankier version of me (who apparently has an Irish accent?!) while she's there - she said she'll try!

Loving the video and the photos - made me feel a little warmer as it's about 0 degrees outside!
