The Journey to Malaysia
Seremban 2, Malaysia
Hi guys, finally arrived in Malaysia, our flight was delayed at both Heathrow and at Amman International Airport so we are a couple of hours late landing in Kuala Lumpur. We left Heathrow around 18:00 and had a shortish flight to Amman arriving at 1:00 this morning. After spending a long hour trying to get through security with a large group of other tired and weary travellers, we managed to get our seats in the departure lounge. As I said the previous flight was fairly short compared to this next flight. We then had an 8 hour 30 minute flight to Bangkok, in which I only managed to get one hour of sleep due to cramped seating and the air con not working properly, so to overcome this I think I ended up playing 3 hours of minesweeper. We arrived safely in Thailand at around 18:00 local time. Following this we chilled on the plane in Bangkok for 45 minutes before jetting off to Kuala Lumpur. This flight was by far the easiest as it was just under 2 hours to KL. Spent most of this time trying to help John with a crossword on the in-flight entertainment system, or yet again playing minesweeper. We arrived at KLIA at around 21:00 local time, and collected our bags fairly quickly. The only setback to the journey was that Jenny's bag had been lost somewhere between Glasgow and Kuala Lumpur . After sorting most of the baggage issues we met our Project Trust rep Noraini in the front hall of the airport and went through all the admin. We then had an hour's drive to Seremban, where we will be spending the next 4 days. Very exciting to see Malaysia for the first time, and we drove past the Sepang F1 circuit. Upon arriving at the hotel, Noraini told us we had 15 minutes to get ready for going out to a food court. The food there was so nice, we had 3 different types of roti, normal, crispy and eggy, can't remember their proper names, and to top it all off we ate chicken satays and drank this amazing drink called "Milo Ice", which is basically hot chocolate with ice floating in the top creating a varying temperature throughout. Anyway, I am absolutely shattered so will hopefully keep you all updated throughout the whole year. :)
