The two words that describe today would have to be 'panic' and 'waiting'
Our last day in Hong Kong, and so much was tentatively planned last night, although nothing was firmed up. On the table for consideration today were a trip across the island to the cable car and then a ride in that, and perhaps a trip to Disneyland Hong Kong, which I handn't remembered actually existed until I saw it in one of those booklets you find at all good hotel concierge desks.
So, an alarm was set for 8am, we would have a quick breakfast and then make a final decision on where we would go, knowing that our limo was arranged from the hotel to the airport for 5pm this afternoon, plenty of time for us to explore some more in the morning.
The alarm clock goes off but instead of being snoozed, it is turned off and I eventually wake at 1130, with check out from the hotel at 1200, the morning consists of us flapping round the hotel, trying to avoid the extra day charge, and then killing time for the limo because we are then too late to make it anywhere of note.
After checkout, we take a walk around the local area for the last time but in truth, the heat is too much, so we do our last bits of shopping and make our way back to the comforts of the air conditioned bar at the hotel where we bide our time until the car is ready for us.
The trip to the airport is as pleasant as it can be, and when we get to the airport and check in, we are then waiting again for 3 hours for our onward flight to Auckland, another 11 hour flight, another night travelling,, but tomorrow we will be one step closer to the Rugby World Cup.
