After a terrible nights sleep we made a prompt exit from the smelly hostel after grabbing some toast. Again not having long to see the city we found a hop on, hop off bus service to get us to all the sites, worked out around 6gbp each.
We begum by walking some of the bus route to catch up to a bus that had already started. It was very cloudy but so hot, were both sweating buckets! We saw some great building on our walk, including Raffles Hotel - it was built in the 1880's and had a massive re-vamp in 2000. Only got to see the front as only guest can go in but it's a beautiful building. Just before the bus stop we found the Worlds Largest Fountaine "Fountain of Wealth". It wasn't on which was a shame though.
First stop on the bus was to the Singapore Flyer (like the London Eye), next was Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay, St Andrews Cathedral, Clarke Quay and then arrived to Orchard Road, Singapores Ocford Street. Made our way down, window shopping only lol and ended up haing to sprint for our bus! We'd waited half an hour for it and it drive straight past us, so mad dash to catch it at the next stop down, dodging and barging along the way!
We then stayed on the bus for a while seeing the sites before getting off at Esplanade to get some photos of this cool building before walking to Merlion Park to see the fish/lion statue. We walked to the next bus stop and then went for a walk around Clarke Quay - it was mainly just bars and restaurants though, oh and found Hooters Singapore here.
We then went back to our hostel and had a look into the Singapore Night Safari - how to get there etc - might go tomorrow if we can. Had enough of our smelly damp room so back to the bus to see the sites lit up and went back to Clarke Quay for dinner and no, not at Hooters!!
Jumped off the bus on Orchard Road again to go to a book shop to try and pick up a copy of USA Lonley Planet - going to try to get it in Oz as it was really expensive here. Then ended up running and barging for the bus again - why did it have to be on Singapore bussiest street both times?! Made it, just! Are both very tired so will hopefully sleep better tonight.
