Set the alarm for 7am as only have today to see the city before heading to Singapore tomorrow. There's a small kitchen at our hostel so yesterday bought cereal and milk for this morning and we get free tea, coffee and toast which is cool. Someone had helped themselves to our milk though!! Even though it was labelled and there are signs saying only tea, coffee and toast is free anything elseis other travellers, grrr!
After that we headed across the street where our nearest 'hop on, hop off' bus stop was. It had an open top and with good weather it was great to see the sights, alot of them could be viewed from the bus too which was a time saver.
We got off at the Patronas Towers stop - they're magnificent buildings. You can go up to the sky bridge and tickets are free but there is only a limited amount. It was around 11am now so figured they'd all be gone by now but thought it was worth a check to save coming back early tomorrow before we leave. We were in luck - we could have two tickets to go up at 1545 - quite a way off but still had loads of the city left to see so hopped back onto the next bus.
Times Square was insane, all designer shops, Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton, need I go on! We got back off at the stop closest to the coach station - we'd planned to get an 11hour train down to Singapore but spoke to the guy at our hostel who said getting a coach would be alot quicker. We went to the ticket desk and it would take around 6 hours, alot better than the 11 that we'd been planning. Tickets were 6.50gbp for two so bought them for the coach that leaves at 1030 tomorrow.
As we were walking back to our hostel it absolutely poured with rain, we had some shelter in China Town but then lots of people tried flogging us stuff. Once the rain had calmed down we realised it was time to get back on the bus to go back to the Petronas Towers. The bus took forever and we really skimmed getting there in time, we literally ran from the bus stop to the ticket post - made it. . . . just!
Watched a short film about the towers before having to go through security to then go up to the sky bridge. We went up Tower 2, lift 1! The sky bridge was amazing and you could see the whole city. Nick also found the hatch that they used in Entrapment!
We wanted to get photos of the towers lit up at night so went to a shopping area in the towers to kill some time. I found Tiffenys, very happy! Had a look around the shops before having an early dinner. We then found a cinema that was showing the new Bond film, Quantam of Solace. We checked it would be in English and then got tickets for the next showing, only cost 2pound each!!! Both loved the film and happy we got to see it.
Managed to get photos of the Kuala Lumpur Tower and Patronas Towers all lit up and as the bus had now finished and it was now raining again we grabbed a taxi back. Have showered and now off to bed before we go to Singapore tomorrow morning.
