Hi
New York was pretty cool ? a good place to start I think. So what did we do? Statue of Liberty was first on list of course! She is fat and looks a bit off colour to be fair!! Was amazing though, she is an icon. Had ice cream in Central Park, rode the piss smelling subway ? rather scary esp when we found ourselves in the Bronx at midnight by mistake one night! Staten Island Ferry - simply because of the episode in Sex and the City. I made Katy be Carrie & I was Charlotte & we had to pretend to row! (which have not done once in real life yet!). Times square at night with all the pretty lights. Empire State was a highlight, amazing view of the city ? sad to see the clear absence of the twins towers (we visited ground zero ? very eerie). Rode a yellow cab, smoking streets, shopping on 5th ave, saw Macys, Tiffany?s etc etc. And of course I bought the t-shirt! Wearing it now along with my tourist speciality ?the mac? ? I love my mac! Keeping it forever.
Overall it was quite an experience ? its true that they say there is something new on every corner ? one day we found a proper little new york pizza place and had a couple of slices on paper plates like in the films! Talking of films there is a strong sense of being there before because of all the times you see NYC on tele and in the films. Friends, S&TC, Ghostbusters and When Harry Met Sally were the ones I thought of.
Really enjoyed it ? highlight has to be when we were at Washington Square Gardens and Katy asked if it meant we were in Washington ? I know I am bad but when she said that I nearly wet myself (and I am not the kind of girl that normally wets herself).
Miss you all ? thanks so so much for taking to time to come on here and have a little read and a little look.
Love Jen
