Sharon's Travels
Hello, well i'm in Sydney and I love it. We're staying in a really excellent spot right near Darling Harbour, which means we are in walking distance to just about everything. I'm really pleased about this cos I keep eating ice creams every day and i need to burn of some of the calories!. We got here on Saturday, but just spent one night before cathing the train to the Blue Mountains. This is just a couple of hours away. We stayed at a really nice YHA hostel in a old style house and spent a couple of days seeing the sights. The best bit was seeing the Three Sisters in the Blue Mountains, the view was the best, not only did I get to see them, but the view beyond them went on for miles. I had seen the view in brochures, but it is a million times better when you get there. We got to ride the steepest scenic railway in the Southern Hempesphere (not sure if I have spelt this right!!!!).
Well getting back to Sydney, it just has the best vibe about it. On Tuesday we had just the best day. During the day we walked around Darling Harbour and went to the Opera House. It looks really different up close, not quite as white as it looks in the pictures, but still spectacular. Then in the evening we watched the opening show of the compedy play Spy Monkey's Cooped. It cost $22 (about 10 pounds) and was so funny. As you have probably already guessed it wasn't in the main hall of the Opera House, but the whole experience was just fantastic. After the show finished we then went for a drink at a really swish bar looking out over Darling Harbour. It's all so surreal, we are actaully here seeing and doing all of these amazing things you see on TV. I have already said it, but I love it here. Will let you know what other exciting things we've done really soon. Take care, love Sharonxxxxxxxx
