We got the ferry from Koh Phi Phi to Krabi to visit Than Bokkharani National Park. It about 46 Km out of Krabi and we asked around a few Tourist Information desks to find out how we could get there. All the tourist information said the cheapest way would be to get a taxi, we got quotes from 1000-1800 Baht!! Luckily we knew we could get the bus for 50B! One told us her brother would do us a favour and take us for 1000B. They do try to rip tourists off, so you need to do your research! So we got a minivan (or as the Thais pronounce it Miniwan) which they basically use as a bus service they line up on the road and when its full they head off, but they will stop for you anywhere. They felt sorry for us having to find our way from the nearest town to the park (although it was only a 20 min walk) so they drove right up to the park entrance for us and the other passengers didn't mind and all wanted to help us out! The park was really beautiful, water falls down from a cliff and out of cave at the bottom this then falls into loads of mini waterfalls throughout the park. We have loaded the pictures on the site. All the locals come on the weekend and wash in the pools. We weren't that brave but we paddled a bit. We found out that there is a really good night food market just by our guest house so we went along. All the Thais set up food stalls and tables along the side of the road, all the food is local Thai dishes and is very very cheap. The thais don't have menus and the stalls will basically cook anything you want! Although for the farang (foreigners) they do have a menu written in English. We tried the spicy seafood soups and salads and some weird sort of pudding which is like cake with some green stuff in (not sure what that was but it tasted ok). A man came up to take our order, he spoke really good English and after he helped us with ordering we didn't see him again. We were convinced he didn't actually work there but the stall got him from somewhere to take our order as they knew he spoke good English!Krabi is quite a relaxed place and tourist don't really get hassled here, which is nice. We are heading up to Bangkok next.
