Hello everyone, after 4 months of hard work we are now back on the road and travelling around vast Ozzie land. I spent 6 weeks working in the meat factory which was hard work and I'm sure I've earned myself arthritis in my hands for my later years but Oh well, then I worked in a cafe for 1 month which didn't even seem like work after the meat factory. We went out on Moreton Island once more on a friends boat and dolphins came up to the end of the boat and swam along with it which was amazing. We left Queensland 1 week ago, having purchased ourselves a campervan, a poptop Nissan Urvan! Travelling in it has been great so far. We headed straight for Byron Bay in New South Wales. It's a bit like Newquay in England...but a lot nicer. We met hundreds of other campervans all doing the same as us. The beaches were gorgeous, we tried surfing which was really hard work we both got up on the board a few times, but I was bruised all over after 2 hours. We climbed up to the lighthouse it was a fair walk but we made it. We would have loved to stay longer in Byron but it was back on the road again and straight down to Sydney. We spent a few more days in Sydney visiting the museums and Palm beach (where Home and away is filmed). When we got there the lifeguard told us we had to evacuate the beach as there had been an earthquake off the Solomon Island and a Tsunami warning was given. It never hit Australia in the end. We had a few drinks in the rocks area which has all Sydney's old buildings and the oldest pubs. I went to visit family in Sydney, Judith and Vince and they took us around all the beaches, which was a great day. We got the ferry over to Manly but a thunderstorm started as soon as we got on the ferry!! Sydney is great city but as always the cities are the most expensive so we didn't stay too long.
