Two days in one.
Yesterday we headed out to Welly. Lovely drive down, went so fast. Had an amazing time catching up with Heather, ended up with a birthday cake each - a lovely Mango and mint cake Heather baked for me and a Raspberry and White choc cheesecake I bought for Heather, because it was between both of our birthdays we celebrated together, was Devine and fantastic.
This morning we went on a tiki down memory lane. Drove to Upper Hutt and I showed Heather and Katie Trentham Army Camp where I used to live and work, then we tikkid past each of the flats I lived in. Was amazing how 1998-1991 is such a distant memory but lovely jaunt. Some places really did Not match my memories yet others felt like it was just yesterday.
Back to Heathers and we walked to the udy street bakery where I used to get the most amazing lamb shanks for lunch when I worked for Datamail. New owners and they don't make any of the tasty treats that place used to have but was still a blast from the past.
Then Heather (thank you for the most amazing time - love our catchups) took us to the airport. Katie was blown away and enjoyed her first ever flight. She was fascinated by the little tiny cities along the way and wanting to reach out and touch the clouds.
Hope everyone in Wanganui saw us waving from the plane as we flew over on our way to Auckland.
Was a fun walk from the airport to our accommodation. They had stickers on the ground pointing the way to where we are staying.
Just eating tea then back for a kip, gotta be up in the wee small hours to catch our flight to London. Having an amazing time already and we haven't left the country yet :-D
