Clothing, going for a layer approach, long sleeve wicking tshirts and base layers, marino wool tops, goretex ,fleeca and down.Taking hats for daytime and warm fleece hat for sleeping in.Other items include silk sleeping bag liner, leight weight adds 2 degrees of warmth, sarong for use as towel, wrap or as a curtain, clothesline for drying clothes. for jungle trip will use the cheap ponchos they sell in Cusco as more suited to conditions than goretex.I also purchased from ebay lightweight army surplus jungle trousers and long sleeve shirts.
will be taking a nalgene water bottle, if you boil water at night you can use it as a hot water bottle also and a water bladder, important to keep sipping and hydrated whist trekking if you feel thirsty yor are getting dehydrated and a water bottle does not lend itself to sipping ,gulping yes.
For water purification using a steripen, ultra violet steriliser, battery operated with a timmer that does not give the taste that using idione does, got this offebay from usa for £70.00 and not the £220 qouted in the uk
For foot care taking lamosil spray, note that tubes of cream are laible to burst in luggage also have started my ritual of applying surgical spirit to feet with cotton wool balls to toughen up skin and will use zinc oxide tape on hot spots of feet to avoid blisters.will take ciprofloxacin with me for upset tummies and also flagyl for more specific tummy problems characterised by smell of boiled eggs.
using a cheap holdhall bought from whipperleys ,army stock, robust material does not draw attention to itself like branded luggage as i image this will be thrown about whilst on tour, taking gaffa tape for emergency repairs and am assuming that if at lasts the trip it will have done well and will likely to have to buy a new bag or case to get home with
